Dear Professional,
Thank you for visiting this web site. The mission of the Obsessive-Compulsive Foundation of Western Pennsylvania, Inc. (OCFWPA) is to educate individuals and families on the nature of Obsessive-Compulsive and Spectrum disorders, if they suffer from this group of disorders and where to go for treatment. Although OCD is the 4th most common neurobiological disorder, many thousands of people suffer in silence.
The OCFWPA has prepared a brochure which discusses many aspects of OCD and related disorders. We believe that this information can be vital to individuals who have symptoms of these disorders but may not have received this diagnosis. We hope it can help them become less ashamed of their symptoms and to be more forthcoming in their therapy. It can also be a valuable asset to families of these individuals.
You may have received this brochure in the mail. If you would like additional copies of this free brochure for use in your practice, please click here. Please include your name and address indicating how many brochures you require.
As a mental health care provider, you play a vital role. Please tell your patients about this web site and about the OCFWPA . At a nominal cost, they can become a member of the OCF (we encourage the use of our website regardless of membership status). Membership services include support groups, a national and local newsletter, discounts on books, videos and conferences, local educational workshops, and a referral base for treatment. A professional membership entitles you to be listed in the referral section of the local website as well as all the benefits of a regular membership.
The Obsessive-Compulsive Foundation of Western Pennsylvania was founded in February 2000. We are growing rapidly. We hope you will consider joining the OCF as a professional member. Please follow the “support the OCF” link from the OCF website. You can join on line or print the application to fax or mail to the office. When your application is processed you will be sent a form to fill out to provide information for your database listing. The local group will add your information after it is posted to the national website. You must complete this form each year that you are a member even if your information does not change.
The Behavior Therapy Institute provides intensive training in exposure and response prevention, incorporating the latest research data. Information about these workshops including details on when and where the next session is being offered is available on the national OCF website.
Your feedback is important. Please send your comments to Elaine Davis at ocdirections@verizon.net
